Top Cover with Excess
Top cover with Excess is another premium level of private Hospital Cover and will cover you up to 100% of the costs for being a private patient in a both private and public hospitals. Top cover is designed for those with more complex or unpredictable health needs, or those wanting to be prepared for the unexpected. Top cover with Excess includes cover for things like cardiac and coronary care, hip and knee replacements, major eye surgery, and obstetric related and Assisted reproductive services.
By having an Excess on your cover, you pay the $250 Excess amount towards the cost of your overnight hospital treatment, thus allowing you to reduce the premiums you pay. An Excess applies per person, per calendar year to a maximum of $250 for a single membership or $500 per family/couple/single parent membership.
