Transport Health has a billing scheme for medical practitioners to ensure charges above the Medicare Benefit Schedule Fee for in-hospital medical services are reduced or eliminated and that Members know the cost in advance. Medical practitioners are voluntary participants in a program that minimises or eliminates Member out-of-pocket medical expenses while in hospital. Participating doctors bill and receive payment directly from Transport Health.

Informed Financial Consent

The onus is on the doctor to provide the patient with details of any out of pocket cost before commencing treatment.

Contracted Private Hospitals

Contracted hospitals have set benefit arrangements with Transport Health, eliminating or minimising out-of-pocket expenses for Members according to the level of cover.

Participating Provider Agreements

Transport Health has negotiated arrangements with health care providers to participate in programs that minimise or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for our Members. We have contracts or voluntary arrangements with Private Hospitals, Doctors and paramedical practitioners, such as Chiropractors, Dentists, Optometrists, Physiotherapists and Podiatrists.
