used for approved purposes such as processing claims or providing health related offers
and information to you. Transport Health complies with privacy legislation and will not
disclose membership details to unauthorised persons.
Our commitment to protect member information entrusted to us extends to
making this website a secure domain for members to view their membership details.
Any information received through this website is strictly confidential, as
is any other information you may already have entrusted to us.
Visitors to our site are also assured of confidentiality. We do not collect
or use any personal information on visitors to our website unless it is freely provided
by the visitor. For statistical purposes, we do track the number of hits;
received by the site and the domains from which the site is accessed. To determine
what interests our visitors, we may also look at the top 20 search words used in
connecting to this site.
The names of persons who request information about our services via the email
function are added to our database as clients. From time to time, we issue
communications about our services to clients on our database. Clients can select
their areas of interest, enabling them to control the information they receive from us.
Those who do not wish to receive these communications can notify us by email and
their names will be deleted from our client list and database.
Security Policy
As part of our Privacy Policy, Transport Health can only provide
details regarding the membership to the member unless advised otherwise. In the instance
of a family membership and where approved by the member, the spouse and dependants over
18 years of age can only obtain information about their own records. Our staff are
required to ascertain they are speaking to a member when contacted and members also have
the opportunity to establish a password on their membership if requested.
Information Collection Policy
You have the right to obtain access to any information held by Transport Health about
you as an individual but not for any other member. The information collected by us is
used for the purpose of processing claims and will only be released to a third party
when written request is received from you, however we may need from time to time to
release information in the following circumstances:
• As required by law to a government organisation such as Medicare Australia or
the Department of Health and Ageing
• A hospital provider when processing a claim for services provided to you
• Paid benefit confirmation to the membership holder
• Organisations that assist us with electronic transactions or claims data
